Get Lit and Japan Week

The week of April 16 - 24 will mark the 19th year that Japan Week has been celebrated in Spokane. During Japan Week, people of Japanese heritage and those interested in things Japanese come together to celebrate Japanese traditions. Japan week is a time to raise awareness of the rich variety of Japanese cultural treasures available to be experienced in Spokane throughout the year. This year, Get Lit! and Japan Week have collaborated to bring Julie Otsuka, author of When the Emperor was Divine, to Spokane. She will be reading from 3 - 4 pm on Saturday, April 16th at River Park Square.

Japan Week also offers Japanese storytelling, origami, music and many other opportunities. A schedule of the weeks events can be found at this website.
