Poetry Out Loud National Finals

This year, the Poetry Out Loud National Finals can be watched without having to travel from your living room! Both the semifinals (all 53 competitors) and the national finals (the top nine) will be webcast live on Thursday, April 28, 9am-8pm, and Friday, April 29, 7-9pm. Micah Meadowcroft will be representing Washington State in the Region 3 Semifinal on April 28th from 5-8pm, Eastern Standard Time. Tune in to cheer him on! We would also like to congratulate the winners of the Get Lit! Poetry Slams! Louise Borden, one of the featured festival authors, was very impressed with Ben Read, Jefferson Elementary student and winner of the Youth Poetry Slam. Congratulations also to Harley Bates of Deer Park for his win in the Teen Slam and Kurt Olson, EWU, for his win in the College Slam! Thanks also to all you who competed this year - they were truly wonderful events!
